The Special Engineering Materials Research Center is a high-level science and technology development platform established by a building-materials research institute, focusing on fundamental research on special cements including sulfo(ferro)-aluminate cement and aluminate cement. It is currently the only laboratory in China and abroad dedicated exclusively to the technological development, research, and application of sulfo(ferro)-aluminate cement, undertaking multiple ministerial-level research projects on ferro-aluminate cement.
To further advance fundamental research on special cements and support in-depth study of the ministerial projects on ferro-aluminate cement, the building-materials research institute equipped its Special Engineering Materials Research Center with dozens of products from Beijing Lantian Juntai Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., including the marine tidal and salt spray environment comprehensive simulation system, concrete adiabatic temperature rise/specific heat test chambers, and constant temperature-humidity CO2 test chambers.

One of the center's key research focuses is the durability evaluation of ferro-aluminate cement in marine environments. The system custom-built by LANTK is a multi-parameter coupled environmental simulation platform integrating seawater corrosion, low-temperature cycling, and pressure cycling. It simulates typical marine environments such as tidal fluctuations and salt spray erosion, with temperature control from -20°C to 60°C. Through its touchscreen terminal, the marine tidal and salt spray environment comprehensive simulation system enables visualized data operation and display, monitoring how materials and products perform differently under preset multi-factor coupled environments.
